Flynns Philosophy

Natala & Greg Flynn established Flynns Wines with a focus to make individual & premium wines. The wines reflect our vineyard, the vintage season and Heathcote regionality. We love to give our customers an insight into wine with first hand experience with the winemakers in Cellar Door and the Winery.

Traditional Winemaking

It all begins in the vineyard. Quality wine comes from exceptional fruit grown in the vineyard. Our vineyard produces low yielding quality fruit due to site selection, soil management, canopy management, hand pruning to specific bud counts and hand picking at vintage.

Traditional winemaking with old world methods employed. Small parcels of fruit are hand picked, destemmed and fermented with natural fermentation. Hand plunged for extraction of colour and flavour and gentle pressing. Maturation in oak barriques which have been selected over a period of time to suit our individual wine styles.

All of this is in aim to achieve the ultimate in winemaking which simply is complexity and balance.
